Round 1 Colts Report

Saturday saw the Colts take on Triabunna for the first game of 2010.

After struggling for the majority of the pre-season with numbers a group of 21 made the long trip out to the east coast.

By half time our boys had ground out a 3 goal lead, which should of been more if not for missed chances and over-using the football. However the endeavor and hardness the boys were getting in and under was first rate.

Triabunna hit back in the third quarter and kicking with the wind ended up holding a 2 goal lead at the last change. After the Bunna kicked the first of the last, the boys rallied and went on to kick the next 4 goals pinching a slight lead. A couple of heart stopping moments, 2 missed chances by the opposition and the boys were victorious by the slimmest of margins.

Better players for the day included Brad Joseph, Cam Potter, Kieren Isles and Ian Mckenzie through the middle, Luke Alsford and Shaun Frogson down back and up forward Jordan Watson lead up all day and finished with 3 goals.

We look forward to the challenge of New Norfolk this week.
