Round 11 Colts Report

Saturday saw the colts take on last years premiers Brighton at Anzac Park.

Conditions were good but there was a stiff breeze blowing towards the tennis-court end.

Brighton kicked with the breeze in the opening term and, although we won our fair share of ball in the midfield, there class shone through and they went into the first break 40 points up.  Second quarter our boys dug deep, and with the midfield on top, we kicked 4 of the first 5 goals of the quarter before Brighton got a couple back in the latter stages.  Second half the boys tried gallantly and down to just 18 players we fought on although eventually going down by 75 pts.

Best players for the day included Jai Bannister, Raedan Smedley, Jordan McCullum, Ian Mckenzie and the entire backline stood up despite being under constant pressure.

This week we look forward to Triabunna at Anzac park in which should be a close encounter.
