In another wet and muddy game the Two Blues extracted a 25 point defeat of the Huonville Lions on home soil/mud.
The conditions called for some hard straight line football with the side that wanted the ball the most, was going to be the winning team and to our credit we were slightly harder at the contested footy which gave our forwards more opportunities to score in the poor conditions.
The back six are now becoming a very tight unit within the team. Ricky Batt was fantastic at Centre half back and repelled many attacks by the opposition, Andrew Clarke was hard as nails and seems to love these conditions and Matt Phillips ran the lines at every opportunity to turn defence into attack.
Through the middle and up forward, Sam Paino stamped himself on either the wing or on the ball. Trent Proud was a focal point for us when we came out of defence and drove us forward on many occasions and the big fellas through the middle played a big role by giving us some big bodies around the stoppages.
Next week we start the second half of the season against Kingborough who are currently in second spot on the ladder, right in front of us. Very important for our season that we stamp ourselves on this game and get second spot back.
