The Lindisfarne Football Club signed veteran coach Adrian Goodwin as its Senior Coach, a move which Club President Trevor Bailey sees as a solid step for the club regaining its former glory.
“With the signing of Adrian, the Club can look forward to its Centenary Year in 2011 with a strong positive outlook,” Mr Bailey said.
“His experience is highly valued and we are sure that Adrian’s professionalism and experience will be reflected in our game play during the season and our ladder position at the end of next year,” Mr Bailey said.
“We had several of our younger players step up into the Seniors last year due to a horrible string of injuries, mostly broken bones, to many of our key Senior players, three of which have now retired.” he said. “With that in mind, and with the signing of Adrian, we hope to attract new, experienced, players to the Club to build on the player depth the Club has and play some really competitive football.”
Mr Goodwin is well known in the football fraternity, having had coaching positions at Kingborough, Lauderdale and Clarence.
