Round 8 Reserves Report

In what was the best display of team football for the year the reserves side defeated Doges Ferry by 48 points.

As a coach it was very pleasing to see every player contribute to a win and be disciplined enough to play both attacking and defensive football.  Our team structures also worked well and together with some strong pressure, we were able to create goals, that in other games we were not able to.

In a game were every body contributed I was really pleased with Andrew Clarke who was hard at the footy and created a lot of play coming out of defence.  Nick McWilliams who is another hard at it footballer and took another step in his development and Nathan Hollis who’s attack on the football was also impressive along with playing a role for his team mates.

Big Paul Jackson and Josh McWilliams we tireless worker all day in the ruck and up forward and gave our on-ball brigade first use of the ball.

The Back 6 at all time were strong and tight and special mention should go to these guy who sacrifice themselves every week.

This week we face our biggest challenge against New Norfolk and we really need to be mentally prepared for it by taking all the good points from our win over Dodges Ferry and stepping them up another level again.
