Last week’s game saw us take on the struggling Triabunna Kangaroos who are yet to register a win this season and it was important for us to get a big victory to boost our percentage which may play a part in the positioning of the ladder later on in the season.
From the first bounce to the final siren I felt we were in total control of the game and it was pleasing to see that we got off to a great start kicking 12.6 to one behind in the first quarter, coming to the break with a 77 point lead.
From there on the game became scrappy with a lot of stoppages around the ground and not a lot of free-flowing footy going on.
The thing that was most pleasing was that we stuck to structures and played for each other and didn’t become selfish which at times can happen when you’re dominating a game.
The only disappointing part on our behalf was our inaccuracy in front of goal, finishing the match with 25 goals, 28 behinds which means that that we kicked 13 goals 22 behinds since quarter time which is something we have to improve.
The end result was a 163 point victory which will give us confidence heading into the next round against a very tough opponent in New Norfolk at Boyer.
